“Calle started herding at 5 months old and LOVED
both herding and watching sheep. I also started Calle in puppy agility classes
at age 12 weeks. We continued our agility and herding lessons for another
one and a half years. The “You Will Obey Me” methods seemed
appropriate at the time but ultimately took its toll on this very sensitive
Border Collie. Within a short time Calle was less than enthusiastic about
anything having to do with agility. She shut down in classes and clinics.
Eventually time constraints forced me to give up herding. Realizing that
this dog needed to have something to do to use her mind I again turned to
agility. All I wanted for Calle was to be happy running agility.
A friend recommended Kris Haley to me. I thought I
would call her, having nothing to lose. Kris was so very kind and so interested
in helping. After our first interview I started Calle on her Bach flower
essences. We had an agility show in one week. I had no expectations for
any change in Calle’s attitude to toward agility. I was somewhat surprised
to find that she was less stressed at the show and seemed even a little
happier about being there. Over the next 2 months we religiously used the
Bach essences that Kris recommended. At each agility show I saw small changes.
Several people came up to me and commented how Calle seemed happier. At
each show she showed new enthusiasm for going to the show grounds and walking
around. She ran faster, HAPPIER, and even seemed to begin to enjoy herself.
My favorite time was at a recent show after she ran a wonderful run, she
came out and went up to a total stranger and sat in front of them all excited
as if to say, “Wasn’t I wonderful?” My goals for Calle
are only to have her be happy and to join up with me to become a team in
whatever we do. Thanks to Kris and the special flower essences we have made
a huge step in that direction.”
